On September 25th 2021, Monreale, the beautiful town located in the metropolitan area of Palermo, was the scene of a Royal Wedding of yesteryear, reinterpreted in a modern way, between the descendant of the Bourbons and the younger daughter of Lord James Randolph Lindesay-Bethune, 16th Earl of Lindsay.
The Cathedral of Monreale was the perfect setting to welcome the newlyweds and the two hundred guests, who were able to admire a jewel of art and architecture. The Cathedral, in fact, contains all the beauty and sacredness of the mosaics that embellish the walls of the naves. The chapel of the Crucifix, so rich in sculptures and with a unique pipe organ, presents apses (the backdrop to a modern fairy tale), which evoked the charm of the ancient royal families, and their deep roots in the land of Sicily.
